Molecular Biology Sales Representative Cape Town Area

Requirements

BSc Honours, MSc or PhD in Molecular or Biological Sciences. At least 2-3 years’ experience in a research environment. Previous sales experience an advantage. Experience with key molecular applications including endpoint PCR, Real-Time PCR, NextGen Sequencing and Nucleic Acid extraction essential. Valid driver’s license and own vehicle.

Location: Cape Town

Description: NextGen Molecular supplies is a supplier of consumables and equipment to biotechnology and diagnostic diagnostic industry, as well as various universities in South Africa. We are looking for a Sales Representative to join our team. The successful candidate will be based in Cape Town. Key duties will include: achievement of the sales targets for the allocated territory through growth by agreed percentage and maintaining sales of promoted products in territory; manage sales territory and maximize the number of calls on target customers; building strong, positive relationships; maintain the level of product knowledge for existing products and develop knowledge on new products as well as the relevant details of promotional tools; control costs in carrying out of their job function; spend 3-6 hours daily at customer sites daily, with the balance of the time spent on planning, preparation and reporting activities. You will also be required to drive vendor registration with potential customers in your territory.

Key Requirements: BSc, MSc or PhD in Molecular or Biological Sciences. At least 2-3 years’ experience in a research environment. Additional Requirements: Able to work independently. Strong time management and planning skills and able to prioritize in a flexible manner. Excellent communication skills – listening, verbal, non-verbal, written and presentation. Strong customer service focus. Results oriented, with a passion to succeed. Ability to influence key decision makers and to challenge appropriately. Thorough understanding of customer-focused selling concepts. Strong problem solving, logical and critical thinking skills.
